Hawaii.....

Since we are retiring in February, Hub recently took his last

business trip to Hawaii. I joined him at the end of the week and we then spent a week in Maui. It was perfect! To the right - dolphins spotted on our snorkeling trip................................................

My Chicago visit....

I recently spent an awesome weekend in the Chicago area with my children and grandchildren. We enjoyed a few outdoor activities, but had fun with inside choices as well. In order of appearance.....

Kennedy and Lisa at mother/daughter karate

Jackson (who really doesn't like to have his picture taken, but he's growing up so fast you just have to see a photo).....

Yes.....it's me.....the turkey. I just couldn't resist. It was at the apple orchard where we ate apple donuts, picked apples & Kennedy rode the pony. Grandpa Hub needs to 'pony-up' the pony!

Poor Kennedy got attacked by a giant spider!!!!!!

Visiting my grandchildren!

I just returned from Chicago where I visited my grandchildren. We celebrated Jackson's 9th birthday, complete with a Lego cake. We also enjoyed a tea party after Kennedy saw to it we were properly attired. I think we look fabulous!

The Fruit Loop

We recently took Ma on a trip through the fruit loop. We began at Hood River, in the Gorge, and followed a trail through apple and pear orchards. We were fortunate to enjoy beautiful weather, ate some awesome apples, brought some home for pie and devoured a huckleberry milkshake. It was a very enjoyable day.

Yosemite National Park!

Hub's friend, Jose, brought us to Groveland, Ca, where we spent a few nights in Bob's lovely home (Bob is Jose's friend). We spent one day hiking in Yosemite and had perfect weather. We saw enough to know we want to come back again for another visit.

Our trip to Sturgis, South Dakota

We spent about 10 days on a road trip to South Dakota experiencing the annual Sturgis Morotcycle Rally (party). We traveled with our motorhome and the Harley in the bed of Hub's truck. About the time we hit Idaho, we began to see a constant stream of motorcycle enthusiasts making their way east. It really added to the excitement. While in Montana where we stopped for the night, we caught this awesome photo of a sunset....

After arriving in Sturgis, we took many side trips to see the surrounding areas. One of our first stops was to Crazy Horse and then on to Mt. Rushmore.

The most unique part of this trip was the fact we met MANY Harley riders on our sidetrips even though we were hundreds of miles from Sturgis.

We just had to vist Wall Drug in Rapid City. Why? Because everyone does.

The Needles Highway....

.....in Custer National Park. We savored the fresh foresty smell as we enjoyed this very serene ride. We went through tunnels that were so narrow, pickup trucks would not have made it through.
