After fighting weeds, quack grass and weekly mowings for 11 years, we decided to change the look of our front yard. A new sustainable look was our goal. What do you think?
I think it looks GREAT! Lots of personality packed into a small space. (But take it from me, you'll still need plenty of pre-emergent to keep those pesky weeds away.)

(Accidently double-posted.) But I can say it looks great plenty of times. The enjoyment will be well worth the effort!
